Our story

Brickabee is a family-run business based in Adelaide, South Australia, born from a background in bricklaying and a shared passion for nature, sustainability and thoughtful design.

Our story begins with years of hands-on experience in working with clay and masonry, we understand the value of durable, well-made materials. That foundation naturally led us to explore how traditional building skills could be used in a new way,  to support native wildlife and create something beneficial for the environment.

Our bee nesting bricks are made using locally extruded clay and are carefully manufactured by hand in Adelaide. Each piece reflects our commitment to quality craftsmanship, local materials and sustainable production practices.

As natural habitats continue to decline due to the expansion of housing, infrastructure and commercial development, many native solitary bees are losing the safe spaces they rely on for nesting. Brickabee bee nesting bricks are designed to help fill that gap by providing practical, purpose built nesting spaces that can be integrated into everyday gardens and built environments. In doing so, they help support pollinators that are essential to healthy ecosystems.

We believe buildings, and gardens should do more than look good, they should actively support biodiversity. By creating nesting spaces for native solitary bees, we hope to encourage healthier ecosystems right in peoples backyards.
